The Sri Lanka ETA allows citizens of eligible countries to travel to and around Sri Lanka for tourism, transit and business purposes. The ETA grants its holder a 60-day stay in Sri Lanka from the date of arrival. The ETA for Sri Lanka can be obtained by filling out a simple online application. ETA is valid for a period of six months from the day the authorization was issued.
The ETA holder can travel to Sri Lanka for a stay of up to 60 days with the Tourist and Business ETA. The Transit ETA only allows stays of up to two (2) days.
For an extended stay, an ETA holder must contact an embassy or consulate.
The ETA for Sri Lanka allows a single or double entry depending on the purpose of the trip. The Tourist and Business ETA are a double entry authorization, while the Transit ETA is a single entry. The validity of the ETA begins upon the first day of arrival. The Business and Tourist ETA grants a 60-day stay in Sri Lanka.

- A valid passport with at least six months from the expected arrival date

Children under 16 years of age, who have their own passport must submit an individual application. Minors who are included in their parent’s passport do not need to apply for an ETA for Sri Lanka. When completing theETA Application, the parent can add the child as long as they are in their passport. The parent will have to provide details of the minor.

Once all requested information has been provided and the respective payment has been made, the standard processing time is 1 day(s) to receive the approved ETA. Once you receive the approved ETA for Sri Lanka, you must print at least one copy of the document and present it to the border authorities upon arrival in Sri Lanka. The ETA must be presented along with the passport that was used for the online application. It is recommended to keep a copy of the ETA with you at all times throughout your stay in Sri Lanka.
You need a minimum of six months validity on your passport when making the application for The ETA for Sri Lanka. Arrival date in Sri Lanka should be at least 180 days before the passport expiry date.
If you have two passports due to dual-nationality, you must choose the passport you will use to travel and enter Sri Lanka. There should not be any inconsistencies between the approved ETA and the passport information provided on theETA Application.
